Oil paints can be thinned with oil. Walnut oil use goes as far back as Renaissance Artists over 1000 years ago. Walnut oil is lighter and easier to work with than linseed oil. Add extra walnut oil to your paint and this will thin it naturally to a sheer color. Walnut oils do not oxidize as quickly as linseed oil. By using walnut oil your paintings will stay bright for many years.
